HAPPY MARTYR feat. BOZ BOORER (Morrissey) + ACOUSTIC FAUXS (Foo Fighters covers)
Saturday 21 January 2012 - 19:00
Boz Boorer is best known in the music world as Morrisseys musical director, lead guitarist and co writer for over 20 years. He is also legendary on the Rockabilly scene and among the many artists he has played with are The Polecats, Ronnie Dawson, The Deltas, John's Children, Kirsty MacColl, Imelda May, Adam Ant,Madness,The Pogues and Edwyn Collins.
Along with vocalist Alex Lusty (Acarine/Who Shot Who) He now brings us HAPPY MARTYR.
Described as 'urban folk' or an MC fronting early Tyrannosaurus Rex, Happy Martyr's music is a raw sounding, stripped down acoustic rap crossover. Tracks for the debut album were recorded between London and Boz's Serra Vista studio in Portugal, which was also the backdrop for the video to accompany debut single 'Painkillers'' which was released via download on the 4th April 2011.
The next Happy Martyr single was "Sleep Tight" and was released on July 4th, also on download. The videos can be viewed on the band's website HappyMartyr.com . Gigs in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Dublin followed in the autumn and the debut album is scheduled to be released in January 2012 on Floating World Records.

WILL AND THE PEOPLE
Will and the People are more than just a band. They are a way of life. Living, rehearsing, being together, who are on a journey beyond the realms of conventional popular music. Will and the People have percolated into the gaps of the live music scene in the UK with their own unique sound, honest and fresh they have naturally created their vibrations through a shared vivacity for all types of music Though they will proudly state their main influence as being Bob Marley and his Wailers, the sound they make is thoroughly theirs, eloquently glistened and scattered with tones from many corners of song world. A solid band of individual talent combines them, and their forthcoming self titled debut album confirms and proves, with 11 irrefutable reasons, why Will and the People are still rising, despite their lack of conformity to the music industry around them They just try to follow their vision without distraction, which is something to be admired in this day and age.
Their music is about love, about human angst, and most importantly about making people dance about all their qualities good and bad
Our music seems to have become a security for some people, which tells us we are doing something right and it is worth pursuing confidently as we are there is nothing better than knowing it effects people except maybe watching them dance in the moments we know that love is to share
