Blues Night: BOB BOWLES with the legendary GROUNDHOGS Rhythm Section!

Saturday 19 February 2011 - 19:30

The Groundhogs Rhythm Section is Ken Pustelnik (drums) & Pete
Cruickshank ( bass ) . They are the engine room behind Tony McPhee on
all the classic Groundhogs hits , including their gold album " Split "
which contains the worldwide recognised rock anthem " Cherry Red ",
Thank Christ For The Bomb , Who Will Save The World which also entered
the U.K. Album charts top ten . They have backed some of Americas most
legendary Blues artists notably John Lee Hooker , who rated the
Groundhogs as Britains finest blues band in the early 60's.

Ken & Pete's initial inspiration for the " Rhythm Section " idea
was two fold , firstly to play in the style of the early Groundhogs
lineup with the reintroduction of some of the material from that period
which has not been played for the last forty years .

Secondly to front the band with respected artists who lead their own
bands and incorporate their skills in redefining the sound of some
classic material.
This will be the fourth incarnation of
The Groundhogs Rhythm Section , previous frontmen were , Chas Depaolo (
from New York ) , Dave Weld ( from Chicago ) , Eddie Martin ( from
Bristol ) .
For the first time we will be performing as a
four piece and welcome new members , Bob Bowles ( Swindon ) on gtr/vox
together with Jon Buckett ( Swindon ) on gtr/keys/vox .
If Psychedelic Blues Rock is your thing here is a chance to catch the genuine article.
