HEADWAY - Swindon + The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases-Rehabilitation Unit Bath - Supporting people with Brain Injury
An Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is an injury caused to the brain some time after birth. There are many possible causes, including a fall, a road accident, tumour and stroke. The impact of a brain injury may be cognitive, emotional, behavioural or physical and therefore affects individuals every day life and tasks that most of us take for granted such as driving, going to work, doing the shopping etc. Brain injury affects whole families, not just individuals. For the people of Swindon, The Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases-Rehabilitation Unit Bath and Headway Swindon provide medical care, rehabilitation and ongoing support for sufferers and their families.
REACH INCLUSIVE ARTS - It initiates and manages projects designed by people with disabilities to extend their participation in the artistic and cultural life of the community. It is a platform and access point for an often isolated group into the world of creative activity. Reach acts as advocate and enabler, forging the links between disabled artists and the active opportunities they need in order to develop and flourish.
